invivodata (now ERT) Named Pittsburgh Technology Council’s Life Sciences Company of the Year

invivodata, a global technology-driven provider of health outcomes services to biopharmaceutical organizations, medical device companies and contract research organizations (CROs), has been recognized by the Pittsburgh Technology Council’s 2012 Tech 50 Awards as the Life Sciences Company of the Year. Invivodata, a former River Cities Capital Funds’ portfolio company, was acquired by ERT in July 2012.

Each year the Pittsburgh Technology Council’s Tech 50 Awards honor those technology companies that demonstrate the strongest advancement in product or sales success, financial strength and job growth and retention.

“This is a great honor, born of the focused, innovative and diligent work that we have done over the past dozen of years,” says Doug Engfer, founder and CEO of invivodata (now Chief Strategic Advisor ePRO, ERT). “The award recognizes both the objective measures of our success in our financial progress, and the societal impact of the work we have done, are doing, and continue to do.”

invivodata was recognized for its commitment to delivering practical, efficient and flexible electronic Clinical Outcome Assessments (eCOAs), which include patient, clinician, and observer reported outcomes solutions to biopharmaceutical companies who depend upon patient-centered research.

“We have changed, forever, the face of clinical research and have given each of us a clear, loud voice in the process. Because of our work, we and our loved ones will experience safer and better therapies now and in the future,” says Engfer.

After the acquisition by ERT, the company now has the broadest suite of eCOA products in the industry ensuring that the right tools can be used in each project.

“We continue to be impressed with ERT’s technological advances and leadership in the growing market for clinical research technologies,” said Audrey Russo, president and CEO, Pittsburgh Technology Council. “We applaud ERT’s commitment to the field of life sciences and its contribution to growing and sustaining Pittsburgh’s technology industry.”
