Health Integrated Receives URAC Reaccreditation

Tampa, Florida – Health Integrated announced today that it has renewed its accreditation for Case Management, Disease Management and Health Utilization Management by URAC, a Washington, DC–based health care accrediting organization that establishes quality standards for the health care industry. URAC’s Case Management Accreditation standards require companies to establish a process to assess, plan and implement case management interventions. Disease Management Accreditation standards require companies to establish coordinated healthcare interventions and communications for populations with conditions in which patient self-care efforts are significant. Health Utilization Management Standards provide assurance to patients, providers, purchasers, regulators, and employers that the practices of the organization performing these services are fair and equitable for all parties. Health Integrated was first accredited for Health Utilization Management in 2001 and Case Management and Disease Management in 2004.

“Health Integrated is honored to once again be awarded Case Management, Disease Management, and Health Utilization Management Accreditation from URAC”, said Sam Toney, MD, Chief Medical Officer of Health Integrated. “We are pleased to be recognized in the industry for our comprehensive approach to Disease Management and our whole-patient philosophy around behavioral and medical health management. The URAC distinction underscores the quality of our work with customers, patients, clients, payors, and practitioners/providers by demonstrating compliance with national standards for Case Management, Disease Management and Health Utilization Management services.”

URAC’s Disease Management Accreditation standards promote evidence-based practice, collaborative relationships with providers, consumer education and shared-decision making with consumers.

The URAC Health Utilization Management standards establish consistency in UM processes and ensure that appropriately trained clinical personnel conduct and oversee the utilization review process, that a reasonable and timely appeals process is in place, and that medical decisions are based on valid clinical criteria.
